![]() ![]() This kept it going for another couple of years - until we encountered a similar problem in January of this year. Close to $1000 in parts and labour - but covered under the warranty without hassle. The first machine had it's first major problem after ~2 years. Liked it so much that we bought a second one for our beach house. Simple to use, excellent coffee every time. I first bought one of these machines from the Good Guys (with a 5-year extended warranty through their Concierge program) in 2016 - and loved it. Harvey Norman, as always, provided excellent service during the process of trying to get the issues resolved. In the end both the grinder and the expresso machine both failed and the machine was binned. I had a number of niggling problems from the date of purchase and the Breville help desk were incapable of helping. My main issue was with the quality of the grinder.īuild Quality: To pack all these features into a machine at a reasonable price (sub $2,000) means that the build quality is just not there. Certainly as good as a typical coffee shop. Read more sion, water temperature etc can be customised and saved.Ĭoffee Quality: With a bit of fiddling I was able to consistently produce a good quality expresso and cappuccino. The control panel generates alerts when cleaning is required and the pressure gauge helps getting the grind and tamping just right. It comes with a good tamper and the levelling tool is great when you are getting used to the machine. Having owned, used and now replaced my Dynamic Duo I thought that I would update my earlier review.įeatures: Breville have done a great job with the design of the Duo - double boiler, PID temperature controller, heated group head (not E61 though), pre-infusion, shot timer etc. Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman for $1,600. A waste of $1600.00, I would not recommend this machine. We use freshly roasted coffee beans and are competent machine operators, however it's performance is bellow acceptable standards. I am unsure what assessment was actually carried out because the issue is still present. We have had the machine back home for a couple of weeks but the issues of inconsistency with coffee pours remains. Breville have assessed the machine and assured us that there is nothing wrong with it. Then I had to take it upon myself to organise Breville to get in contact with the store and get the machine sent across. Within this extended time period I had to constantly ring Harvey Norman which they rarely returned my phone call. This process took 3 months from the day we dropped it off to Harvey Norman, to getting it back from Breville. ![]() ![]() We were unhappy with this report and requested for Breville to assess it. Read more dependent repairer, who said there were no issues with the machine. They told us we were out of the refund period and needed to sent it away for assessment. After a month and a halve of trialling we took back the machine to the store for a refund. Despite the grinder and machine being kept at constant settings the volume of coffee greatly varied with each pour. From initial purchase I was disappointed with the consistency of the coffee being made by the machine. In January we purchased this machine from Harvey Norman in Thomastown as a home coffee machine to make a couple coffee's per day. Purchased in March 2019 at David Jones Online Store for $1,199. Overall, I believe that the Breville Dynamic Duo is worth the investment. As a result, I have been able to do latte hearts and look forward to learning more latte art. The presence of the dual boiler in the Breville Dynamic Duo means that I can extract coffee at 93 degrees Celsius and froth milk at the same time. The quality of the frother is also outstanding as I have been able to froth milk and alternative milks with microfoam which has enabled me to do latte art. Read more e extracted being at 93 degrees Celsius due to the presence of a boiler as opposed to a thermoblock model where water passes through a hit surface, which may result in temperature inconsistency I am very satisfied with the consistent temperature of the coffe. Overall, the Breville Dynamic Duo has lived up to my expectations.Īfter some tinkering with the grinder dose (which depends on the freshness of the beans I bought), I was able to accurately and consistently extract coffee at 9 bars which is what typically occurs at a cafe. I bought this machine as I was looking for a semi automatic machine that could accurately extract coffee in terms of quantity and temperature and froth milk with texture akin to what you would get at a cafe. ![]()
